We appreciate your desire to submit your content. This free type of exchange is one of the cornerstones of AccuStudio's website. We want to make it as painless as possible to submit things that other AccuRender users may find useful. We also want the content to be useful for others. Both of these desires yield the accustudio submission guide.
Please take a few minutes and ensure that the content you plan on submitting conform to the following basic policies. There are different policies for Objects, Materials, and Plants. Each of these may have decals or texture maps, so please submit them in our recommended image file formats. All other types of content, such as RPC Objects, and Backdrops are typically already in a "shareable" condition.
Note that you must agree to to all the legal mumbo jumbo on our terms and conditions page. It isn't very tough reading or anything, it just outlines some of the basics like please don't send us a model you purchased from Abscissa 3D Models, or a material that was part of Block & Materials. Those businesses deserve their credit, copyrights, and money for developing their content.
Thank you for making AccuStudio a valuable resource for AccuRender, Revit, Rhino and SketchUp users around the world.

Object Submissions
AccuStudio's policy on object submission is that it should be as easy as possible to send us your stuff. So, if you want to give us a model for the exchange, all you have to do is zip it up and use the form on the submit page. You can find out more detail on the Submit page. Also, if you have created a User Profile, just log in and click on the Submit Object link in the User Menu. This will let you submit more than one file at a time and give you specific control over the information.
Material Submissions
Submitting materials for the accustudio library is really easy. It shouldn’t take you more than 5 minutes to put the materials into the submission library, zip up the bitmaps and send it all to us. Just follow these simple instructions:
When you installed the accustudio materials library, you will have noticed that a second library, called "ACCUSTUDIO_SUBMIT", also appears in your materials library list. That is where you need to get your material definitions.
- In the "Material Library" dialog, pull down the "Material" menu and turn off "Add folder names when copying"
- Drag your materials from your "USER" library to the place in the "ACCUSTUDIO_SUBMIT" you think best suits it.
Now you need to get together all of the bitmaps you used in those materials and put them all into a zip file. We generally try to keep bitmap sizes below around 50Kb after compression, although we do accept large maps if the reason is good enough. Please see the recommended image file formats at the end of this piece.
- Make a zip file with all of the bitmaps in it.
- Add the "accustudio_submit.mlib" file, which you will find in your "accustudio" folder, to the zip file.
- If you like, write a short piece of text explaining the materials along with your name and the date of submission. Place this in the zip file also.
Now just zip it up and CLICK HERE. If you bitmaps are to large, just send the ZIP to us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . Thanks in advance!
Plant Submissions
Submitting your plant definitions for the accustudio plant library is much the same as submitting a material. When you install the accustudio plant library on your machine, you will notice the "ACCUSTUDIO_SUBMIT" library in your library list. Simply drop your plant definition into that library. If you have used custom materials for your plant, not already in the AccuRender, or accustudio plant material libraries, take a look at the "Materials Submission Guide" where you will find out how to submit your materials.
When you have finished, post a zip file with your accustudio_submit.plib, along with the material definitions and bitmaps and you can use the same form just CLICK HERE or email the ZIP to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
Recommended Image File Formats
We suggest you use the following formats for your bitmaps.
- TGA, TIF or BMP Opacity maps, or other maps with sharp shapes.
- JPG All other maps.
We try to keep bitmap sizes down to 100Kb after compression. This means that an uncompressed TIF, BMP or TGA can be around 200Kb in size before being zipped, while a JPG (which is already highly compressed) should only be 100Kb. There will always be exceptions to the rule, such as when a bitmap has to be of really high resolution to infer detail even at a distance, however, please be mindful of how much resolution is really necessary for their intended purpose.
